Love lies | Bonus chapter

  • 19 Feb, 2024

The sun beat down warmly on our backs as Riha giggled, her tiny hands patting sandcastle walls that crumbled just as quickly as she built them. Sand stuck to her cheeks, forming a tiny golden moustache that made me erupt in giggles.

"Oh no, Riha! Look at your face!" I exclaimed, tickling her tummy, sending her into another fit of giggles.

Riddhant, ever the playful one, scooped up a handful of sand and pretended to sprinkle it on Riha's head. "Uh oh, it's starting to rain!" he boomed in a silly voice.

Riha squealed, batting at his hand with her own sand spraying everywhere. We all dissolved into laughter, the sound echoing across the vast beach.

"Dada, no rain!" Riha declared, her voice a sweet mix of baby babble and proper words.

I write the kind of romance that makes you want to hug a pillow and scream into a cupcake. You're welcome (and sorry!)

"You matter more than you know, cara mia. Your talents, your kindness-they shine so brightly. And I've seen a side of you that others might miss, but I cherish it. You're like a rare gem, hidden in plain sight." ćƒ»ā„ćƒ» Riona Mehrotra loved to get lost in books, finding magic in words more than people. When Emanuele, a friendly and outgoing exchange student from Italy, arrives at her school, her quiet world is turned upside down. Emanuele Moretti, with his bright smile and kind heart, sees something special in Riona that others miss. He encourages her to step out of her shell, helping her discover talents she never knew she had. Together, they navigate the ups and downs of life, facing challenges and growing closer with each passing day. Their journey isn't always easy. Coming from different cultures, they have to learn to understand each other's ways. But their love bridges the gaps, showing them that true connection goes beyond words and traditions. As Riona finds herself in the spotlight, she realizes that what truly matters isn't the attention of others, but the love and acceptance of someone who sees her for who she really is. Will their love story endure the test of time and distance?

But everything changed when Riddhant entered my life. It all started with a silly dare, a kiss on the cheek that meant nothing to me but everything to him. His smile, though small, sparked something in me. Yet, as time passed, I noticed a change in him. His friends influenced him to become someone I didn't recognize. The glasses he once wore symbolized his innocence, but he traded them for lenses, mirroring the change within him. Little did I know, my actions would shape his future. When he returned as a navy officer, I never imagined it was because of me. His proposal took me by surprise, but before I could respond, I discovered his dark secret. It shattered everything I believed about him, leaving me in fear and uncertainty. š‘š¢ššš”ššš§š šššš¢š¤ I used to be a bookworm, just lost in my own world, not really part of any social activities. That was until Meher entered my life. That bet, that dare, it changed everything. Her kiss on my cheek was a moment I cherished, but her whisper cut deeper than any knife. I knew I had to prove myself, to become someone worthy of her love. Yet, as I drifted away, I couldn't shake the feeling of loss. The glasses I wore were a reminder of who I used to be, but I traded them for lenses, hoping to see myself as she did. Joining the navy was my way of showing her I could be more, that I could be the man she deserved. But when I returned to Goa to confess my love, my world crumbled. Learning she was to be engaged to another shattered my heart. In a moment of rage and desperation, I committed the unthinkable, forever altering the course of our lives
